Welcome to 'Haisthorpe's' home page. We hope the information on these pages will be of use to you.

'Haisthorpe' is a Victorian Guest House, small Hotel, offering Bed & Breakfast accommodation. It situated in a quiet secluded area of Windermere, yet is only a few minutes walk from the village centre, train and coach station (collection possible by arrangement). Do not believe what we say about ourselves but read the many comments left in our Guest Book.
Windermere is situated in South Lakeland in the Northwest of England, and is an ideal base for those that wish to tour the 'Lake District' either by car or foot. South Lakeland has a rich heritage with many fascinating towns and villages. Windermere is on the hillside and joins with Bowness on the lake shore, both are situated within the Lake District National Park.

To compliment the superb tourist attractions there are also numerous outdoor water sports and unrivaled opportunities for fell-walking. There are too many superb attractions not to be missed nearby to list here, see the attractions page for our list of local attractions.

Here at 'Haisthorpe' it is our aim is to provide the highest standards of service and comfort in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.

	We offer double, twin and family accommodation, also rooms for that special occasion including one with a double Jacuzzi bath. (Click the images to see enlarged versions)
All the bedrooms are tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished and are non-smoking, all are en-suite, one has an large corner Jacuzzi bath for those special occasions

Our Guests have free use of the nearby Parklands Country Club private leisure facility

In the mornings you can help yourself to our breakfast buffet which consists of cereals, grapefruit, Yogurt, fresh fruit, fruit juice, tea or a cafetiere of fresh coffee. You can follow this with the full English breakfast, all our bacon and sausage is supplied by WOODALLS of Walberthwaite who have their own herd of humanely reared animals, we also use fresh free range eggs. If you prefer you can have a vegetarian breakfast or a lighter continental breakfast and finish with a choice of toast made with our home made bread and served with homemade marmalade and honey. In 2001 we were awarded 'Cumbria Culinary Heritage' which is awarded to establishments using locally sourced or homemade products.

We will also be delighted to advise you of restaurants within easy walking distance to give you an opportunity to sample the excellent cuisine available in Windermere.

At any time you can relax in our comfortable lounge where there is a selection of games and books for your use. To help you plan you days out we have a folder with every attraction and place of interest in Cumbria all listed by area, we also have daily listings of special events and organized walks taking place in Cumbria. We have a large selection of walks for all areas of the 'Lake District' available for guests to borrow, these leaflets have a map with detailed instructions and places of interest around the route. Daily organized coach tours of the area are available and for those without there own transport car hire can be arranged, please email us.
